Where you are now

You keep it together, you get things right, you try not to let anyone down.

Nobody sees how you check a message ten times before sending, how everything is done at the last minute, or that it took half a day just to get out of the house. But the self judgement voices kick in anyway "This shouldn't be this hard"... "I need to stop over reacting" .. "Everyone will find out I don't know what I'm doing.."

Then there are the times you inevitably forget something, reply late, you cancel a plan. Then comes the over-apologizing, the over-explaining.

No matter what anyone says, there's always a feeling that someone's disappointed. That people are judging everything you do. That's when the coping mechanisms come in. Drinking, scrolling, substances, whatever buys a few hours of quiet. When the temporary relief fades, you're back in the same loop with an extra bonus of shame and feelings of self-sabotage. Whatever you do, the guilt doesn't stop.

Whatever you do, the guilt doesn't stop.

I've been there

The people pleasing, the perfectionism, the addictions to coping mechanisms. The helplessness and despair that nothing will ever change.

For years I only showed up when I was in a good mood. I've got a charismatic side and I could get people to like me, so when I was down I'd just go quiet. People thought I didn't care. I cared so much it was eating me alive.

I know how hopeless it can feel.. But I also know how much better life can get once you're out of this vicious cycle of constant guilt and fear of judgement.

You probably know your patterns better than anyone

Most people with ADHD have read the books, heard the podcasts, binged the videos, and can probably explain their own brain better than anyone else.

If that were the key to a better life, everyone would be a lot happier instead of stuck in the same loop, year after year.

The hardest part about ADHD isn't usually the ADHD. It's that we were trained early to second-guess our own thoughts, emotions and intuition, and to run on everyone else's rules instead. Understanding yourself and trusting yourself turn out to be two very different things, and it's the second one that changes how the day feels.

You didn't choose to be programmed that way. You're the only one who can rewire it.

What changes

  • More confidence in your decisions. More energy and self-respect.
  • A clear understanding of your own limits, and the words to hold them when someone pushes back
  • Other people's opinions stop controlling your behavior.
  • You become more authentic with what you express to people
  • Your relationship with guilt becomes a manageable dialogue instead of an abusive dictatorship
  • You say what you need, and it doesn't feel like you're doing something bad
  • Someone's in a bad mood and you don't automatically go looking for what you did
  • Less anxiety and ruminating around what you "should have" said or done

How I work

I've spent years building this out of my own experience with ADHD and over 100 one-on-one clients.

It's built on the idea that you are the expert of your own life. You already know what's right for you. Together we figure out what's keeping you stuck, and build the way out from what you already know.

Most approaches hand you someone else's cookie cutter to follow, which is part of the problem. Your brain doesn't work like anyone else's and it needs its own way of working.

The 12 weeks, one on one, tailored around you.

My methodology focuses on strengthening four main pillars.

Boundaries.

Recognizing your limits and saying them out loud. Choices made on your terms rather than out of guilt or pressure.

Emotional management.

Working with your emotions instead of being run by them. Using excitement, passion and curiosity as fuel rather than flattening everything down.

Systems.

Personalized to how your brain actually works, and letting go of everything that doesn't.

Trust.

Self-trust, rebuilt. Confidence in your own judgment, and a friendship with yourself you'd actually want. This is the one that holds the other three together.

I call it the B.E.S.T. framework. I've seen it again and again: when you improve these four areas, almost everything else in life gets better. Look at them like core muscles. Once you strengthen them, the whole body tends to work more smoothly.

What's included

  • 1:1 sessions
  • WhatsApp access between sessions
  • Your own roadmap, with milestones and accountability
  • A personal video around your "dream life"
  • Tools and worksheets, yours to keep

This is for you if

  • You're constantly feeling guilty, whether it's not doing something well enough or the way someone looked at you across a table
  • You blame yourself every time someone is unhappy
  • You're constantly reading people's reactions and adapting yourself to what you think they want to hear
  • You find it hard to say what you want, even when someone asks you directly
  • You're a perfectionist and it still never feels good enough
  • You self-sabotage and you don't know why
  • You say yes when you mean no, then resent it
  • Diagnosed, diagnosed late, or fairly sure and never made it official

Who this isn't for

  • You want productivity hacks or a quick fix
  • You want a "cure" for your ADHD, or you consider it nothing but a burden
  • You believe the only way to improve your life is through harsh self-criticism
  • You're in crisis or need clinical treatment. That's a different kind of support

What changed for people

“I learned how to stand up for myself and set boundaries with people. I've learned the right words to express how I'm feeling and what I deserve.”

From anxiety, guilt and low self-worth, to multiple job offers and the confidence to express needs unapologetically.

“I used to be so scared of my emotions. Now part of me looks forward to intense moments because I'm curious to see how I'll react.”

From compulsive coping and a constant need for external validation, to grounded emotional self-management.

What people say

“Jesse, you taught me to be myself free from the bonds of other people. You are someone who awakens my delayed dreams.”

Putu C.

“Practical guidance on how to manage ADHD emotions and behaviour traits. I was able to use these techniques daily and noticed improvements when it comes to handling my very intense emotions.”

Andi W.

“It really clicked for me and I've been digging into the topic since then. Right now I'm focusing on building a system that helps me increase my 'mental RAM' and keep things clear and more structured day to day.”

Marko K.

“I was surprised how much of an impact our sessions had in such a short amount of time.”

David R.

“You had a very big part in steering me correctly in my thinking and putting me on a healthier tack of mind. It's reassuring and mentally stimulating knowing I can reach out and book a session with you at will.”

James T.

“With his emotional intelligence and an open mind he can connect to the problem in a way that makes you feel understood and gain clarity. Our sessions really helped me to gain perspective and focus on my values.”

Eti P.

“Jesse reignited the fire within me and consistently stood by my side, providing gentle and constructive advice.”

Victor T.

“I really appreciate his motivation to help others, that comes from the heart, and his advice accompanies me in my everyday life and makes it better.”

C.C., Berlin

“He's always happy to share his knowledge and share the tools to manage a lot of the ADHD traits that I've been struggling with.”

Lydia T.

“His approach is judgment-free and with the right touch of humor to put people at ease.”

About me

Jesse Elan

I'm Jesse Elan, an ADHD specialist and psychological counselor based in Berlin, working with people internationally. Fifteen years running one-to-one work, talks, workshops and groups. Trained in Narrative Therapy.

I was diagnosed at 16 and didn't accept it until my 30s, because I didn't want to believe there was something wrong with my brain. It isn't broken. It's a brain that works best when it gets to follow its own rules.

I'm not a guru and I'm not here to save your life. You're the expert of your own life and know what's right for you. I just help you figure it out.

Why I do this

If I would have known what I know today, it would have saved me years of struggle, self abuse and shame. I want to be for as many as I can the person I wish I'd met back when I was diagnosed.

The call

Free, 30 minutes, one on one.

I work with a small number of people at a time, so the call is where we both find out whether this is a fit. You tell me what's actually going on. I'll ask the questions that get underneath it. By the end, we'll both know.

If it's a fit, I'll show you what the twelve weeks would look like for you specifically.

If it isn't, you'll still leave with a clear read on what's draining you and what to change first. That part happens either way.

Next you'll pick a time. Nothing is booked until you confirm.

Questions

I've done therapy and read everything already. Why would this be different?

Most people I work with have. The gap usually isn't information. What my methodology gives you is a way to audit it: keep the parts that uniquely work for you, throw out the rest. The people who move fastest are usually the ones who've already had some experience with therapy.

Do I need an official diagnosis?

No. My whole approach is built on the idea that you know yourself better than anyone else does. I work with diagnosed and self-identified clients both.

Is this coaching or counseling?

It depends, and in most cases it's a mixture of both. I'm certified in Narrative Therapy and Video Therapy, and I've developed my own techniques on top of that. We work out what fits you on the call.

Twelve weeks. Is that really enough?

Yes, but only if you're committed to putting in the work. Most people notice a shift well before week twelve.

Guilt sounds smaller than what I'm dealing with.

I singled it out because it's the common thread with almost everyone I've worked with. The program itself is built around your specific situation. That's what the call is for.

One conversation and you'll know.
